I am a member of the extremophilic virus team, where we assess the prevalence of which types of extremophiles are found in Puerto Rico. As a pre-med student, it is crucial for me to understand how environmental factors directly or indirectly affect humans and nature itself as I believe they go hand in hand. My aspirations include pursuing an MD PhD to work directly in answering scientific questions and putting them into action to implement them within our community.
