My name is Gustavo F. Yordan Acosta, I’ve lived most of my life in Guayanilla, I am a graduate of the University of Puerto Rico Ponce (UPRP) with a bachelor's degree in biology with specialization in biotechnology. One of my main research interests in general is how different types of cells behave and respond to extreme conditions and why different types of organisms are better suited to different types of extreme environments and in particular one topic that interests me is how rising sea temperatures because climate change affect marine microorganisms and how this in turn, could affect us. I’m also interested in how computers, especially the use of coding and use of computers model are used to better understand the biology of a cell or in general.
