I am interested in pursuing the fields of marine microbiology, wildlife conservation, and bioinformatics. My current project is “Investigating virus-driven host persistence in extreme environments,” in which I analyze data collected from two lagoons; one superfund site and another hypersaline natural reserve. The goal of this project is to observe the presence of AMGs within viral genomes to observe their effect on the survival of the host. An additional objective is to create a deep taxonomic classification of phages present in the microbial community. I hope to one day get a master’s degree in marine biology and a PhD in microbiology.
