I am interested in exploring the role of bacteriophages in coral immunity by investigating their potential to reduce Vibrio infections, a major contributor to coral bleaching. By isolating Vibrio from various reef environments and cultivating viruses from the coral mucosal layer, this study aims to enhance our understanding of virus-mediated defense mechanisms, informing future coral reef restoration efforts in the Caribbean.
